Make the first step visible
“Sort out my job search” contains lots of decisions. Try replacing it with one physical action: open the saved job listing, find the closing date, or write the document title. Choose a step small enough that you know when it is finished.
Put the next thing where you can see it
Keep one short note beside the task. It can hold the instruction you would otherwise have to keep remembering. Close or move anything that is getting in your way, if that is possible in your setting. These are options to experiment with, not rules you have to follow.

- What would “done for now” look like?
- What do I need before I can begin?
Leave yourself a way back
Before stopping, write the next small action. A useful restart note says where you got to and what to do next. You don’t need to finish everything to make returning easier.
If the task still won’t move
The next step may depend on information, energy, equipment or help you do not have yet. Name that missing piece. Asking a colleague to clarify the priority may be more useful than making another list. If difficulties are persistent and affecting your daily life, consider speaking with a qualified professional.
